Note: I used to manage this band back in 2007. I was also their graphic designer who did most of their merch design and all of their CD artwork. This was a group of the best musicians in DFW. The coolest, most down to earth dudes I ever met in my life. Very humble. I miss those days. Seeing them live at the Ridglea in Ft. Worth, TX. That was the fucking best… Note that this is off the 2006 self-released album, “What Doesn’t Kill You…” and this song never made it to their label debut release “Virulent”, but it is MY favorite song the band ever wrote and performed. Sometimes they would close with this, it was always my request that they play it live every time. Check out the breakdown at 2:00, sick… Good music right here.

It’s been a long time since I have posted here. A lot has happened in the last few months. I quit my full time job to freelance full time, I got some awesome new clients, I had a bad wreck in my new car, and I’ve been working non stop.

The new Kingdom Of Sorrow record came out last week and I haven’t checked the numbers, but from sales in StillbornStore.com, it did very well. The week before the album came out, orders were pouring in at least every 5 minutes. My email was working overtime that week, it was nuts. I had to send out the email blast to all of the Diehards that night and stayed up until 3am to make sure it was perfect. Working with Jamey for the past almost 3 years has been a complete blessing. Jamey has done so much for me and my family, I could never repay him for everything. He’s so nice. I get birthday cards, Christmas cards, New Years cards, new stuff in the mail all the time. With all he has going on, he always makes time to let me know that he appreciates me as much as I do him and hopefully one day when he’s not being “Captain Work More Than Anyone In Metal”, we can spend some time hanging out. Hopefully he’ll finish his book soon too. He told me I could design the cover for that, and I have a ton of ideas.

So, if you haven’t checked out the new Kingdom Of Sorrow record, if you love rock, metal, grunge, thrash, or any type of good heavy music, go check it out. It’s a million times better than the first album. The first album was a lot of Crowbar / Hatebreed mix, and I think on this record they have really mended their skills equally to create such a new and awesome sound. You can also headout to FYE in your neighborhood, most likely the Mall, and pick up the Deluxe version there. I definitely recommend you buy the Deluxe version, it has extra artwork, and it’s awesome.

New Worm Attacks iPhones, Targets Mobile Banking

A second iPhone worm is in the wild, and unlike the jokey Australian worm authored by hacker prankster Ikee two weeks ago, this one is dangerous.

Unlike Ikee’s hack, which merely rick-rolled owners of infected iPhones, the new Dutch variant targets customers of the bank ING. When triggered, the worm redirects users visiting the banking site to an address in Lithuania which shows a fake login screen for ING online banking. It is essentially a phishing attack run on compromised iPhones.

The panic that will inevitably spread from this story is unjustified. First, if you are a regular iPhone customer you are safe, even if you are in the Netherlands. This is because, like the Ikee hack before it, the new worm will only work on a jailbroken, or hacked iPhone. Further, you will have to explicitly install SSH remote access, and then you will have to leave the root password at its default, which is /alpine/.

If that means nothing to you, you don’t have any reason to worry. If that /does/ mean something to you, shame on you! You should go change that password right now.

And don’t forget, you’ll also need to live in Holland and to be a customer of the ING bank for this to work. This could explain why this “security breach”, according to the BBC, has only affected a few people: “The number of infected phones was thought to be in the hundreds rather than thousands.” And how does it spread itself? “The worm could jump from phone to phone among owners using the same wi-fi hotspot.”

While we shouldn’t ignore the threat of malware to our increasingly powerful and connected mobile devices, neither should we panic. The news of a genuine iPhone-killing piece of software seems to be treated with the same glee as news of a virus for the Mac. Thankfully, none yet exist.

T-Mobile iPhone MMS Fix – The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction

Recently I had some problems with my jailbroken unlocked iPhone 3G 3.0 on T-Mobile. I was getting the error: “The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction.”.

This is the fix for that:

1. Open Cydia and search for “Legacy” – Install the first one on top. (TMobile US)

2. Once installed you’ll need to reset your network settings. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Confirm

3. Now go to Settings > General > Network > and make sure Data Roaming is set to ‘On’

4. Now go to Cellular Data Network > and enter the following:

a. APN: epc.tmobile.com for MMS

b. APN: wap.voicestream.com for Cellular Data

c. MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms

d. Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080

5. Go all the way back to Settings and then press Home.

6. Turn off the phone.

7. Wait for the phone to completely power off, wait 30 seconds and then power back on.

8. If your phone crashes and you get the Sad Phone Face, it’s fine, unlock the phone and reset the Springboard if need be.

9. Now have someone send you a Picture Message and make sure you can send out MMS.
